Comment on SkyPoint Observation Deck, Bistro + Bar Surfers Paradise by John Burke

You can see in all directions and get a good feel for the layout of the Gold Coast. There is another tall residential building being built in the North East Corner which will probably impact the views up the Northern beaches of Surfers Paradise.

They are regulars at Sardjiono’s Italian Restaurant and rave about it. We thought we would give it a try and weren’t disappointed. Very good Italian without the frills. Rich flavours and al dente spaghetti.

Comes with a bakery/cafe with great coffee, pies and pastries. There is also a delicatessen and a grocery section specialising in Italian items. It is easy to get carried away.

The emphasis on Sardinian regional cuisine makes the menu really special. Not your average Italian. The wine list is extensive with an Italian bent. We have also been to the Baretto (small bar) at the side of the restaurant. There are a range of shared plates which are also excellent.

Great views. There are a range of wines to taste and buy by the glass or bottle with your meal or by the bottle or case to take home. The meals are wholesome without being heavy.

We are regulars and the food is of excellent quality. You can start with the tapas plate as a shared entree. The menu changes seasonally. The owner and chef, Ludovic Poyer, has always taken the time to speak to us and other patrons at the end of the meal. For a family touch his wife, Mandy is the head waiter. She is a local and the reason Lemon Tree Passage has been blessed with a brilliant French, (Normandy), chef as Ludovic.
