Fort Denison Restaurant

Fort Denison Restaurant is located in the middle of Sydney’s spectacular harbour on the historic island of Fort Denison. Open seven days for lunch, the restaurant is the perfect place to relax and enjoy fantastic food, wine and coffee, with 360 degree views of the city. Catch the ferry out to the Fort Denison, take a NSW National Park Ranger-guided tour of the iconic island’s museum and Martello Tower, before sitting down to a sumptuous menu, inspired by the best in local produce. Fort Denison Restaurant is also available for group bookings, weddings and all types of events.

Fort Denison is the ultimate dining experience in Sydney.

We are open every day for lunch only with the first bookings from 11.30am until 2.15pm. (Regrettably due to the lack of suitable ferry timetables we are currently unable to open for a la carte breakfast or brunch on the weekends).

Sydney is all about our beautiful harbour and Fort Denison gives you the best view of the iconic backdrop of the most famous harbour in the world, while you enjoy a unique dining experience.

Dining on Fort Denison is perfect for groups - large or small - or your visiting guests or relatives. Show off your city, and the worlds best view, while you dine.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes from our contemporary a la carte menu every day of the week. The design of the menu harmonises our food philosophy, the Australian lifestyle and ambience to create a memorable dining experience for all occasions.

On colder days during Autumn/Winter, the marquee will be heated. Whenever possible the walls will be opened to capture the stunning views on offer to all our diners.

Dress Code: Whilst our restaurant is not fine dining, we ask that you do not wear thongs or singlets.

Fort Denison Tours (National Parks and Wildlife Service)

A former defence facility, Fort Denison is located on a small harbour island in the centre of Sydney Harbour just a stone's throw from the Botanic Gardens. Once under attack from US friendly fire in WWII, Fort Denison is today a top Sydney tourist attraction.

One of the most coveted places in Sydney for New Years Eve, the 360° views are sure to impress. Take the guided tour to explore Fort Denison’s museum, cannon's gun powder store and winding staircase in Australia’s only Martello Tower. Discover the fully operational Tide Gauge Room where Sydney's tidal benchmark is recorded.

It’s very easy to get to Fort Denison – just make sure you’re there for the firing of the 1 o'clock cannon.

Please note: the restaurant is unable to take bookings for tours on behalf of National Parks and Wildlife Services, You can purchase your tour ticket at the same time as purchasing your ferry ticket with Captain Cook Cruises.
